In 1st place is the Skopje. Skopje is the capital of Macedonia and is the largest city in Macedonia too. It is the main centre of the country’s politics, economy, culture and academics. In the Roman period it was known as Scupi. It was inhabited since at least 4000 BC. The remains of the Neolithic settlements have been found within the old Kale Fortress which proves that the place had some historical importance too.

In 2nd place is the Baba Mountain. Baba Mountain is the name of a mountain on the Balkans. The Baba Mountain overlooks the city of Bitola in the Republic of Macedonia. The highest peak of Baba Mountain is Pelister which is 8533 feet in height. Baba Mountain is the third highest mountain in Macedonia after Sar and Korab Mountains.

In 3rd place is the Sar Mountains. Sar Mountains was formerly known as the Shar Dagh by the Turkish. It is a mountain range in the Balkans which extends from southern part of Kosovo and the northern part of the Republic of Macedonia to the northeastern Albania.

In 4th place is the Mount Korab. Mount Korab is the highest mountain in the Republic of Macedonia and Albania. The peak of the mountain forms a frontier between the two countries. It is adjacent to the Sar Mountains. It is also pictured in the coat of arms of Macedonia.

In 5th place is the Jakupica. Jakupica is a mountain range located in the central part of the Republic of Macedonia. The highest peak of Jakupica is Solunska Glava which is 2540 meters above the sea level. There are many other significant peaks in this mountain range. Some of them are Karadzica, Popovo Brdo, Ostar Breg, Ostar Vrv and Dautica.

In 6th place is the Mavrovo Lake. Mavrovo Lake is located in the Mavrovo region, in the Mavrovo and Rostusa municipality of the Republic of Macedonia. Lake Mavrovo also makes for an excellent swimming, boating and fishing spot in the summer months. One most notable landmark in the area is the half submerged church in the lake.

In 7th place is the Mavrovo. Mavrovo National Park is an IUCN Category II National Park and is a region located in the northwest of the Republic of Macedonia. It also hosts winter sports and is a home to the winter sports center. There are several villages and smaller hamlets in this region namely Mavrovo, Nikiforovo, Leunovo and Mavrovi Anovi.

In 8th place is the Galicica. Galicica is a mountain which is situated across the border between the Republic of Macedonia and Albania. There is a National park which is on the Macedonian side of the mountain. It is situated between the two biggest lakes in the republic named Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa.

In 9th place is the Samuil's Fortress. Samuil's Fortress is located in the old town of Ohrid in the Republic of Macedonia. During the rule of Samuil in the Middle Ages it was the capital of the First Bulgarian Empire.

In 10th place is the Pena River. Pena River is the biggest Sar River in Polog. It is the biggest Vardarian tributary which originates from the Sar lakes. The region of Cabriolica and Borisloica located high on the Sar Mountains are the regions where the spring of Pena starts from.
